Kaleidoscope aims to place FCAD at the forefront of Toronto’s creative sector by providing students with a platform to showcase themselves and their work to their peers, industry, and broader community. I was involved with Kale for two years, moving from a graphic designer (17/17) to the co-creative director with Japnaam Kaur (17/18). In my first year I helped create the marketing aesthetic with guidance from the leadership team. I also pitched a marketing campaign which was put into action before the first round of submissions. When I became creative director, Japnaam and I decided to expand the colour pallette of the publication, adding a peach, mustard yellow and warm grey to the mix. In that year we had a record number of submissions to the publication, as well as a successful launch party that brought in over 200+ people. Japnaam and I were responsible for the creation of the 140 page publication, as well as the overall artistic direction of the brand. We also cared for a team of photographers and layout artists, who relied on us for assignments and feedback.
